Immediate Release
Tiffany Jenise,
President of the Georgia Perimeter College's Earth Club, was pinning up flyers for the upcoming
Recycled Bag Day, “We’re really looking forward to a great turn out next
week.” She bent down to pick up a balled up scrap of paper and tosses it in
the recycling bin. “We’re trying to get over 200 students to sign the
petition so that our own GPC campus will be more green.”
The Recycled Bag
Day event will be held outside the Clarkston campus in the N- Building on
October 13 from 12-4 p.m. Students will be encouraged to sign petitions to
stop using plastic bags here on campus. They will also be invited to design
their own recycled bags that they can take when they go shopping.
Look forward to
other Earth Club proposed events including a Water Safety and Conservation
Seminar, the creation of a Community Garden and a Compost Education Seminar.
